Vanessa Bryant Posts Photo Of Kobe Wearing I Cant Breathe T-Shirt And Responds To Troll!

Publish date: 2024-06-13

Vanessa Bryant made sure to join the voices demanding equal treatment after the tragic death of George Floyd, urging all her followers to ‘spread love’ and ‘drive out the hate!’

That being said, she posted a picture of her late husband, basketball legend Kobe Bryant wearing a T-shirt reading ‘I Can’t Breathe,’ years ago!

As you probably know, this has become the driving quote of the protests and hashtags on social media since the latest victim of police brutality complained about not being able to breathe while an officer kept his knee on his neck for over nine minutes before finally passing away.

However, the T-shirt Kobe wore back in 2014, was actually to pay tribute to Eric Garner!

Vanessa’s post was meant to do the same for George Floyd but at the same time, she proved the sad reality of racism-caused tragedies repeating themselves for years with little to no change.

Alongside the photo, she wrote: ‘My husband wore this shirt years ago and yet here we are again. #ICANTBREATHE. Life’s so fragile. Life’s so unpredictable. Life’s too short.  Let’s share and embrace all the beautiful qualities and similarities that we all share as people. Drive out the hate. Teach respect and love for everyone at home and at school. Spread LOVE. Fight for change, register to VOTE. Don’t use innocent lives lost as an excuse to loot. BE AN EXAMPLE OF THE CHANGE THAT WE WANT TO SEE. #BLACKLIVESMATTER.’

As you can imagine, her millions of followers applauded Vanessa but there was someone who had a problem with her post and she was quick to respond directly to that user.

‘Respect all you say and do but all lives matter,’ they argued.

In response, Vanessa wrote: ‘All lives do matter. Respectfully, I must say that when someone says #alllivesmatter when someone says #blacklivesmatter is like that all homes matter when 1 particular home in the neighborhood is being affected and burning down. Wouldn’t we run and help our fellow neighbour? See the difference? All love.’
