Terry Lester worked as an American actor in the film industry for almost two and a half decades. He is most known for his role as Jack Abbott in the 250 episodes of The Young and the Restless, an American soap opera. Lester died at the age of 53 after retiring from the film industry in 2001. Lester was born in the United States to American parents in Indianapolis, Indiana. Terry, who had an interest in the film industry since a young age, loved to watch celebrities in their roles. He finished his high school education at Southport High School.
Lester then began his acting career professionally with primetime TV guest roles while attending DePauw University. In addition, he appeared in musical theaters and performed in concerts. He began his career with an uncredited role as Mr. Kelly in the 1975 film Airport 1975.

Terry Lester began landing jobs in several TV shows and films after breaking into the American film industry. Barbary Coast (1975), Ark II (1976), Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park (1978), Eight Is Enough (1979), and other films were among his early performances.
Following that, he landed a major part as Jack Abbott in The Young and the Restless, opposite Philip Abbott, Robert Ackerman, Deborah Adair, Dennis Cole, and many others. Until 1989, he appeared in 250 episodes of the show. He made an appearance on an episode of Hotel (1985). Other TV appearances include Santa Barbara (1989-1990), As The World Turns (1991-1994), Diagnosis: Murder (1997), Walker, Texas Ranger (1999), and others.
Terry Lester led a quiet life until his death. He was so preoccupied with the movie industry that he didn’t make time for himself to be in a relationship. He was alleged to be gay in a 2003 LA Magazine piece.
In addition, the story alleged that two other stars of The Young and the Restless, Thom Bierdz and Michael Corbett, were gay. Despite this, Lester never declared his sexual orientation in the public. Terry, on the other hand, had a wonderful life before his death.

Terry Lester later starred in series such as Walker, Texas Ranger, and Star Trek: Voyager after retiring from his job. At the time of his death, the cause was initially believed to be a heart attack. Later, the media revealed that his death was caused by AIDS-related complications.
