Pat Robertson’s Daughters: Meet Elizabeth And Anne: Pat Robertson, officially known as Marion Gordon Robertson was born on March 22, 1930, in Lexington, Virginia.
He was an American media mogul, religious broadcaster, political commentator, former presidential candidate, and former Southern Baptist minister.
The religious broadcaster was one of the driving forces of a movement to increase religious rights’ influence in politics within the United States.
Robertson also advocated a conservative Christian ideology and was known for his past activities in Republican Party politics.
During the 1960s, he founded the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and helped grow it into a cable media empire.
For decades, Robertson hosted a CBN talk show called The 700 Club that combined religious news and political commentary with light entertainment.
His personal influence on media made him a recognized, influential, and controversial public voice for conservative Christianity in the U.S. and around the world
Following the September 11, 2001 attacks, Robertson was criticized for linking America’s cultural liberalism including the gay rights movement and abortion as part of the cause.
In 2010, he claimed a devastating earthquake in Haiti was because its people made a “pact with the devil” during their fight for independence from France.
After hosting the 700 Club on CBN for over six decades, on the sixtieth anniversary, in October 2021, Robertson announced his retirement at 91.
Apart from CBN, he was the founder of major organizations, including Regent University, Operation Blessing International Relief, and Development Corporation.
