Naya Rivera Sounds Off On Rumored Beef With Glee Costar Lea Michele

Naya Rivera is sounding off about the rumors she has “beef” with  Glee costar, Lea Michele, in an effort to set the record straight. The actress appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and of course the topic of conversation turned to the rumored feud. It has been almost five years since the rumors started and Rivera has had enough.

A fan called in to ask Rivera if she had spoken to her former costar since Michele got engaged. The last time fans noticed any sort of communication between the two women, was when Rivera liked Michele’s Instagram post announcing her engagement.

“I did not speak to her. But I mean, everyone sees Instagram, right?” she asked.

“So, that was kind of like a white flag, right?” Andy Cohen, who hosts the show, wanted to know.

“I don’t think there was any beef,” Rivera revealed before commenting about Michele’s engagement ring.

“It’s a good ring,” she stated.

The conversation was short-lived, thanks to Cohen quickly moving on to a new question. However, this is not the first time that the Devious Maids star has addressed the alleged feud. In 2016 she released the memoir Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up, where she touched on the relationship. She explained that both ladies are strong-willed and competitive, which was not always the best combination.

“As the show progressed, though, that friendship started to break down, especially as Santana moved from a background character to one with bigger plot lines and more screen time. I think Lea didn’t like sharing the spotlight,” she wrote.

Rivera also made it clear in her book that the two were once friends, but it broke down over the years. Although she referred to her former costar as “sensitive”, she also made it 100% clear that reports of their feud were greatly exaggerated.

Over two years after Naya Rivera released her book and addressed her friendship status with Glee alum Lea Michele, she is still getting asked about their feud. She may be over answering the question about it, but she certainly handled it with a smile, ease and a little bit of fun on the Bravo show. Perhaps now enquiring minds will let the alleged “beef” go so both ladies can move on with their lives.
