Mark Ronson and His New Music Video
Sizzling new music video alert! Mark Ronson, along with Kevin Parker, the lead singer of the band Tame Impala, has just released a double-header music video for both “Summer Breaking” and “Daffodils,” two songs off of Ronson’s album Uptown Special, released last year. Both songs feature Parker. Directed by Theo Wenner, the video alternates between scenes of frolicking and dancing, with model and personality star Sarah McDonald often seen swimming in the ocean or sunbathing on the beach (which is exactly what we want to be doing right now, to be honest).
Speaking of the music video, Wenner states that “it came about in a very abstract way. We had long conversations just about color and times of day. I had it in my head the whole time that we should set it in the tropics. That’s the place, those are the colors that I pictured listening to the two songs.”
Mark Ronson: Current and Hot
Both Mark Ronson and Kevin Parker are super hot musicians right now: Ronson recently performed his catchy radio hit “Uptown Funk” at the Superbowl Halftime Show, along with Bruno Mars, Beyonce, and Coldplay, while Tame Impala, including Parker, are touring in support of their latest LP Currents, which is nominated for Best Alternative Album at the Grammys. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ronson “thought we could really make the most of this ‘hotness’ by making a video for not one but two of [Parker’s] songs from Uptown Special, ‘Summer Breaking’ and ‘Daffodils’. Theo Wenner made a beautiful video that really captures (and goes beyond) what we were envisioning…” I think it’s safe to say that this video does exactly that!
