Rachel Bush, the wife of Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer, expressed her disappointment on Twitter after their planned golf tournament was canceled due to golfers and sponsors pulling out of the event because it was being held at a course owned by former President Donald Trump.

Bush criticized the "arrogance of others" for causing the cancellation and emphasized that her husband did not make the decision to cancel the tournament. She mentioned that they intend to hold the event at Trump's course next year.

According to Bush, the actions of those who withdrew their support put her and her husband, who have been married since 2018, in a difficult position.

She explained that they didn't have enough time to organize the golf tournament, which was meant to benefit the EMC Foundation, due to the backing out of participants.

Outrage

"Let's be very clear. Jordan did not cancel his event," she wrote.

"We will always stand proudly with our beliefs and hold true to them. Publicly. And we can easily spend our own money to fund the tournament. It wasn't about that.

"Tournament will be at same spot next year. Trump's course. The event was cancelled due to the arrogance of others, and then backing out last minute leaving us in a difficult spot to make everything happen properly.

"Especially while we are on a family vacation... We want it to be great and next year it will be outstanding! Thank you!"

Poyer, who is a highly regarded safety in the league, received messages of support from Bills quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver Gabriel Davis.

Despite facing some criticism this year, it is evident that Poyer and his wife are steadfast in their decision to continue hosting future golf tournaments at the same location.
