Fil and Joes Maribyrnong house renovated on House Rules up for sale
REALITY TV renovators Joe and Fil are selling the Maribyrnong house that was transformed on House Rules to move on to their next project.
Fil said she and her husband had caught “the renovating bug” since appearing on the Channel 7 show last year — in which they fell just short of landing a spot in the grand final — and there was “nothing more to do” at their home at 12 Grandview Ave.

“Since the show, we’ve add a few touches to this house, but we’ve got itchy feet now,” she said.
“We don’t stay anywhere too long.”
The couple bought the house in a rundown state in 2014 and planned to renovate it themselves. But Joe said they “underestimated how big a job it would be”, and jumped at the chance to have it revamped on House Rules.
Fil said she and Joe were thrilled with what their fellow contestants did to their family home, where they live with children Celeste, 16, and Jayden, 20: “It was the Hampton style we were looking for.”
After the show wrapped, the pair added a fourth bedroom and third bathroom to the house, which is now scheduled to be auctioned on May 13.
Rendina Real Estate, Kensington, selling agent Richard Rendina said buyer interest had been in the vicinity of $1.3 million.
Mr Rendina said the house’s quality finishes, “ready to move in to” state, views of the Maribyrnong River from its living and alfresco areas, and position within walking distance of Highpoint Shopping Centre were strong selling points.
The Tootgarook house of fellow House Rules contestants Claire and Hagan — which Joe and Fil helped renovate — passed in at auction last weekend for $580,000, but Realestate understands it is close to selling.
